Articial Intelligence (AI) as Teaching Assistant for Effective Early Childhood Care Development Education Stimulations

Abstract
This study investigates the use of Articial Intelligence (AI) as Teaching Assistant for Effective Early Childhood
Care Development Education (ECCDE) Smula onsin public ECCDE centres in Pankshin Local Government
Area of Plateau State. The study was guided by 2 research questions, which explores caregivers' background
knowledge on AI and the extent of AI tool utilization in thecentres. Adopting a survey research design, data were
collected from 15 caregivers using a structured questionnaire. Data collected were analyzed using mean scores
to answer the research questions, with a threshold of 2.50 for acceptance. The ndings revealed that caregivers
have limited background knowledge on AI, with an overall mean of 2.03, signifying a need for signicant
improvement in their understanding and prociency. The utilization of AI tools in teaching was also found to be
inadequate, with a mean of 2.32. To address these challenges, comprehensive training programmemes
enhanced technological infrastructure, clear guidelines for AI integration, and incentive programmes be
recommended to improve caregivers' knowledge and the effective use of AI tools, in Pankshin LGA.
