Perceived Role of Caregivers and Utilization of Edupreneurship in Early Childhood Education Centre in Lagos State

Abstract
The caregivers play an important role in the early childhood education center in Lagos State. They are
responsible for providing care and education to young children during their formative years. The study
employed survey research design. Population of the study was pre-primary school teachers. Multi-stage
sampling procedure was employed. A self-design instrument was used for the study title 'Caregivers Utilization
of Edupreneurship Questionnaire (CUEQ). Validity of the instrument was done by done by the expert in the eld
of early childhood education by face, content, and construct validity of the items. Cronbach alpha was used to
check the internal consistency of the reliability of the instruments which yield the index of 0.76. According to the
study's ndings, edupreneurship support and caregivers' perceived roles in early childhood education are
signicantly correlated negatively. Additionally, there is a strong positive correlation between caregivers'
desire to embrace edupreneurship initiatives and their perceived self-efcacy in early childhood education.
Therefore, the study suggested that in order to improve caregivers' abilities and expertise in early childhood
education, the Ministry of Education should regularly offer training and capacity-building initiatives. Lastly,
Encourage and support children's edupreneurial initiatives, providing guidance and resources to help them turn
ideas into reality.
